recover from anxiety, people-pleasing & perfectionism with sage holistic counseling

Who is caring for and supporting YOU?

Chronic overachievers and people pleasers are the former gifted and talented students, the top performers at work, and the ones always signing up for one more committee. You love to be busy and are married to your calendars with every 15 minutes being dedicated to a specific task. But, you are starting to notice that life is getting harder. You are starting to feel resentful towards the closest people in your life, and are struggling with prioritizing your own needs even though you know it’s important. Every interaction with another person feels like a drain, and feeling crispy-level burned out, stressed, and frustrated.

You may notice that:

  • You have a hard time receiving criticism

  • You feel like you are “obligation led”

  • You’re afraid to upset others

  • You suppress your true thoughts or feelings towards others

  • Your most important relationships feel imbalanced

No matter how much you accomplish, you never feel accomplished or fulfilled with your work. You feel your best when you are at your most productive. Failure is never an option for you. But, the constant drive to excel and produce can lead to burnout, and you may push yourself too hard and neglect your well-being. This can result in physical and mental exhaustion. You may also have difficulty asking for and accepting help because you don’t believe that others truly know how to care for and support you. And, if you hear one more time that you need to relax or take some time for yourself, then you are going to scream.

This isn’t what you imagined…

Welcome to a space designed for those who dedicate their lives to helping others—therapists, caregivers, and folks in the helping professions. You cannot “therapitize” yourself no matter how hard you try. My clients know that what they are doing isn’t working, but don’t know how to apply what they know to their own lives. You also know that the answer isn’t self-care, but are afraid of disappointing other people if you try to make a bigger change.

Most of my clients experiencing people-pleasing, perfectionism, and overachieving are struggling to balance their own needs with their many obligations. And, their high expectations are also starting to affect their relationships. Therapy may be for you if:

  • You want to receive from others as much as you give

  • Guilt, resentment, and frustration are daily emotions for you

  • You’re struggling with a sense of worth outside of your productivity

  • Negative beliefs about yourself are starting to surface and negatively affect how you show up for yourself

  • Being told you need to schedule self-care in your already busy schedule makes you want to pull your hair out

You Deserve

Support, Too

My goal for my clients is to live a more balanced and authentic life, and to believe they are more than what they can do for others. Therapy for perfectionism, people pleasing, and overachieving isn’t:

  • Me telling you to meditate more to solve all your problems

  • Me telling you that therapy will be easy and one-size-fits-all

  • Recommending a bunch of self-help books you’ve already read

  • Found on Tik-Tok

We will meet for the initial session to begin to get to know one another, and for me to understand what your needs are and where I can help. As we build our therapeutic relationship, I encourage direct feedback from YOU. I want to know if you are feeling better (or worse), or if something just doesn’t make sense from your life. We use the therapy room as a space to practice a different way of interacting with the world in a safe, confidential environment. Together, we will create a space to discuss and address systemic issues while empowering you to navigate and advocate within your professional and personal spheres. I will lovingly challenge you and push you to your edge, but you are always in control of the direction and speed of therapy.

I am excited to help my clients holistically address the mind and the body, as well as challenge the dominant narrative around hustle culture. You deserve to thrive, not just survive. Investing in yourself through these sessions means reclaiming your time, energy, and sanity. You will gain the tools to transform perfectionism into self-acceptance, people-pleasing into authentic relationships, and overachieving into sustainable success. Join me to begin a journey of healing that honors both your professional dedication and personal well-being.
